Merriments Gardens Courses take place throughout the year and we are also an Accredited Royal Horticultural Society Training Centre.

Merriments Gardens offers a variety of short courses, ranging from one day introductory courses on different aspects of gardening and 5-week courses on specific areas of horticulture. In addition we offer some longer courses offering you the opportunity to study subjects in more depth.

We teach against the backdrop of Merriments’ beautiful RHS Partner Garden and access to the commercial nursery ensuring we can bring theory to life plus many of our courses also have the opportunity for some hands-on experience.

 Merriments Gardens next RHS Level 2 Principles in Plant Growth & Development Course starts in September 2023.

This 34 week course, taught by an RHS approved tutor, is designed for those interested in a career in horticulture alongside keen amateur gardeners. Blending science with art, it emphasises how to leave a positive impact on the environment and improve biodiversity. On completing the course, students also gain an internationally recognised horticultural qualification.
